Unstuck — Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

Unstuck collects nothing. Your lists are stored on your own device and are never sent anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no servers belonging to us for your data to be sent to.

The rest of this page explains that in detail, including the two places where something does leave the app, so you can decide for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Who this is from

Unstuck is published by Third Drawer Studios LLC ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy or about the app, write to jamie@thirddrawerstudios.com.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal information about you. The app has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile, so there is no account for us to hold in the first place.

Specifically, Unstuck does not:

What is stored, and where

Everything you put into Unstuck — your lists, the things in them, their steps, your colours and your settings — is saved in your device's own local storage, by your own browser or by the app's copy of it. It stays on that device.

We never receive it. It is not backed up to a server, not synced between your devices, and not readable by us or by anyone else. That also means it is your responsibility to keep a copy: if you uninstall the app, clear your browser's site data, or lose the device, the lists go with it. Use Backup & data in the app's settings to export a copy first.

Backups you export

Exporting a backup writes a plain JSON file to wherever you tell your device to put it. That file contains your lists. It does not pass through us, and nothing about the export is reported to us. If you then share that file — by email, cloud storage, or any other route — it travels under whatever terms that service sets, so treat it the way you would any personal document.

Importing a backup reads the file you choose and replaces the lists on that device. Nothing else is read from your device.

The two things that do leave the app

We would rather tell you about these than let you find them.

The tip jar. The last row in Settings is an ordinary link to our page on Ko-fi. Nothing on Ko-fi is loaded into the app, and the link does nothing at all until you tap it. Once you do, you have left Unstuck and Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies to whatever happens next. We never see your payment details; if you tip, we see only what Ko-fi shows any creator.

Reading picks aloud. The optional "read picks aloud" setting, which is off unless you switch it on, passes the text of the picked item to your device's own text-to-speech engine. That engine belongs to your operating system, not to us, and for some languages it may process the text on the manufacturer's servers rather than on the device. Only the wording of that one item is passed, never your lists. If this matters to you, leave the setting off and nothing is passed at all.

Children

Unstuck is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anybody, it collects none from children either.

Your rights over your data

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export, and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to show you or delete, and no request to make. You already have direct and complete control:

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version were ever to collect anything, we would say so here plainly and ask before it took effect, rather than changing this quietly.
